Why should I have a maternity photoshoot?
Pregnancy is a fleeting and incredibly special chapter — one that deserves to be remembered beautifully.
Whether this is your first baby or your last, maternity photography is a way to pause, reflect, and celebrate everything your body is doing during this time.
When I was pregnant I remember those around me saying "you'll miss being pregnant". And I would laugh and think they were crazy! But even now, I find myself rubbing my belly when I see and expectant mother or hear a tiny baby cry, reminiscing about those amazing (albeit hungry and restless) months when I was growing a human inside my body. Feeling those butterflies growing stronger and stronger each day, as I grew closer and closer to holding my creation in my arms.
I feel strongly that pregnancy is something that should be captured, to this day I treasure my maternity photos and its something that my son likes to look at too.
Session options
Maternity sessions can take place either in my studio or outdoors, depending on your preference and the time of year.
Studio sessions are ideal if you prefer a more private, controlled environment with soft lighting and a timeless feel.
Outdoor sessions take place at carefully chosen locations around Blackpool and offer a natural, relaxed backdrop — perfect for golden-hour light and open space.
I’m always happy to help you decide which option is best for you.
Outdoor sessions
We love outdoor sessions! Our favourite locations are at the beach and in the park, but we are open to suggestions of locations, which you find beautiful and/or have a memory attached to, in Blackpool and the surrounding areas. We have a large selection of dresses available. We will show you these before the session so you can pick a few, and we will bring them along to the session. We have a changing tent which provides you with privacy when undressing outdoors. Our professional lighting is portable, meaning we are able to capture a well lit scene no matter the lighting outside.
Partners, children and pets are welcome to join us for the photoshoot.
In Studio Sessions
In our studio we have a specially designed lighting system which we use for our fine art maternity photoshoots creating highly dramatic photographs. We especially love this simple set up as it enables mum and her bump to take centre stage. We have a selection of body suits and fabrics available which we can use to flatter your body while emphasising her beautiful belly. We will show you these before the session so you can pick a few to wear. Although, it is becoming an increasingly popular request to carry out these dramatic photo sessions in the nude. We are able to meet this request in a tasteful, private manner, so please don't be afraid to ask!
Our professional lighting is able to provide us with a variety of looks including a beautiful high-key look which is especially magical when compared alongside a version once baby is here.
Partners, children and pets are welcome to join us for the photoshoot.

These images often become some of the most meaningful, capturing connection and anticipation as your family grows.
Sessions are relaxed and child-led, with plenty of patience and understanding throughout.
